Trigger program after current transaction is executed

Hi All,

I am looking for a solution wherein I need to trigger a set of code (program) once the user creates an Order using VA01.

The sequence would be:

1. User creates order using VA01 and saves.
2. The custom program should be executed with the Order number and perform certain update tasks.

I tried entring the code in a user exit which gets triggered on Order save but it did not help.

Please can someone help me know how can this be achieved.
