Unable to throw error messages in VA11 tcode

Hi All,

I am facing issue while trying to throw error messages in VA11 tcode. I have tried multiple combinations with display like I/W/S / leave to screen/ leave to list processing/ leave to current transaction..  But these are not working.

The screen completely hangs and I have to come out of the tcode to proceed.

When I tried message '..............' type 'S' display like 'E', this is working fine, but the user can easily proceed without correcting the data.

I searched in SCN, but could not find any helpful answer.

Please provide me some guidance.
