Access restriction to IW44 screen layout

Hi Al,

Is there any other way of defaulting IW44 screen layout for users with restricted fields, other then using transaction variant and assigning it to a variant group.

Its a cumbersome process to assign each user to the varaint group.

Appreciate your thoughts.
