Hi SCN members,
I am considering a career move into SAP. I am not sure though if I can still catch up (I am 30) and what field (Technical or Functional) should i consider.
Here are some info about me.
- I have 5 years of functional experience in the courier/shipping industry.
- During this 5 years I graduated from B.Sc in IT and computing and obtained skills like Java and SQL.
- Then I become a Business System Analyst working in PMO. Although my role is not pure technical I am assigned database hands on tasks including database design/maintenance, extracting reports (T-SQL), SP and other DB concepts. I didn't use Java or any programming skills commercially even though I am fairly comfortable with it.
So now I have 10 years of experience. Do I have the prerequisites to become a SAP Techno Functional consultant.
If so where should i start? Should I first be trained in a technical module and gain experience there then move into a functional module or the other way around? And, the million dollars question, what module(s) would you suggest based on my profile stated above.
Thank you very much in advance
Raouf
